Cate was a deeply loving daughter, sister, aunty, wife, and mother. She was a hardworking social worker, devoted to the creation of families and the wellbeing of children. She was an enthusiastic and caring friend and colleague.

We remember her as a skilled charity-shopper, a telly addict, a fanatical swimmer, an exuberant smoker, a top-notch Scrabble player, a second-to-none storyteller and a pro-grade knitter, with brightly coloured talons for nails and a deep chuckle. We miss her infinitely.

She died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, 30 April 2016.

Cate’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, 10 May 2016 at 12pm, at the West Road Crematorium, Newcastle upon Tyne. Cate requested that mourners wear bright, colourful clothing.

After the service we will gather at Summerhill Bowling Club to celebrate Cate’s life. Please note that parking is very limited; we suggest you make transport arrangements accordingly.
